There is well stocked central library with all kinds of text books, important news magazine and National and International research journals of repute. The laboratories are very well equipped with all kind of instruments.
Botany Department imparts quality education in the field of Plant Sciences and sensitizes students towards the need for conserving natural resources. The study of Botany is vital as plants are a fundamental part of life on earth. It offers essential knowledge and technical skills to study plants in a holistic manner. Students would be trained in all areas of Botany using unique combination of Core, Elective and Advanced Research work with significant Inter- disciplinary approach. The aim is to increase concern and awareness about the Environment amongst the Students, Researchers and Teachers. We ensure plantation of all the new varieties of Plants in Green House/ Herbal Garden. Our Departments maintains Plant Herbarium by ensuring active involvement of students in research activities.
Guest lectures, Seminars/Webinar, Workshop are conducted time to time so that students are aware of latest development in sciences, current trends and latest techniques in research. In between Department conducts educational tours for collecting important plant species.

The Faculty and Students conduct cutting edge research in thrust areas of Botany (Taxonomy, Ethnobotany and Traditional Knowledge, Conservation Biology, Palynology, Antimicrobial activities, Antioxidant Potential, Pharmacognosy, Plant Physiology, Mycology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology and Mushroom Cultivation etc.) and the immense knowledge generated by them has featured in numerous Academic journals with high Impact Factor and Citation Index.
A Botanist is a good career option for candidates who have interest in plant life. Botany as a subject is related to the study of plants and a career in it would mean studying in depth about Algae, Fungi, Bryophytes, Pteridophytes, Gymnosperms, Angiospermic Plants, different kind of diseases related to plants, their growth, reproduction, metabolism, their Conservation, Plant Breeding and Crop Improvement. The M. Sc. Botany scope is vast and students can choose to work in both Private and Public sectors like they can explore employment opportunities in Research Institutes, Educational Departments, Public health services, Agriculture sector, Forest Service, Department of Conservation, land Management, Nursery Farms, Environment consultancies etc.. In the private sector, they can opt jobs in food companies, Seed companies, Plant Biotechnology firms and Agriculture product companies etc.
